Walner Gabriel Espinal is a professional baseball infielder from Santiago, Dominican Republic, known for his versatility, consistency, and strong work ethic. Signed as an international free agent by the Miami Marlins in 2016, Espinal began his career in the Dominican Summer League before advancing through the organization’s minor league system. In 2018, he was named the Miami Marlins Minor League Player of the Year after a strong season showcasing both offensive production and defensive flexibility across the infield. 

Following his time in affiliated baseball, Espinal continued his professional journey in independent leagues, competing in the Atlantic League and Frontier League. He delivered standout performances with teams such as the Tupper Lake Riverpigs, where he earned All Star honors and helped secure a league championship. In 2023, he posted one of his strongest offensive seasons, batting over .320 while providing steady leadership on the field. Espinal also spent time with Águilas Cibaeñas in the Dominican Winter League and concluded his playing career in 2025 after competing across the United States and Canada.
